RULES and REGULATIONS

- Deerfield Fair assumes no responsibility for loss, theft and/or injury to any participant or property competing.
- All contestants will sign an injury statement with the Deerfield Fair prior to participating in the pull.
- All drivers must be 16 years of age or older.
- Only one driver may drive the same tractor in each class
- Drivers must not leave the seat of the tractor while pulling and remain in the seat until the tractor has completed dyno test or speed test, if requested.
- No portion of the tractor may interfere with the sled or sled hitch during the pull.
- All tractors must have a strong and rigid seat. All tip seats must be securely fastened while pulling. Seats will be thoroughly inspected by officials.
- The use of a stabilizing bars is strongly recommended.
- In case of a dispute or misunderstanding, the decision of the judges or superintendents will be considered fair, impartial and final.
- Any un-sportsmanlike conduct will be an immediate disqualification of the tractor, driver and pit crew. The tractor/drive may not be allowed to pull for the remainder of the competition.
- Excessive oil or water leaks are subject to disqualification.
- Any tractor or sled that leaves course boundaries will be disqualified. Flags are not included as part of sled.
- Stock, out of field antique farm tractors, 1970 or older, rubber tired, standard AG tread, set in forward rotation.
- Steel wheels (cleated or lugged) permitted.
- No cut or ground tires, no duals, studs or chains.
- Power blocks or other non-stock must pull for fun or in next class.
- Two wheel drive (four wheel drive with front disengaged.)
- No alternative fuels: original equipment only.
- Must be equipped with hood and grill.
- No pulling from 3 point hitch or links (except for Ford Ferguson)
- 2 point or 3 point hitch tractors must have drawbar secured in a fixed position.
- Maximum drawbar height: 20 inches to top of fixed hitch (Clevis is not the fixed point.)
- Minimum length behind PTO: 5 inches (or 22 inches behind centerline of axle if no PTO).
- Maximum length behind PTO: 16 inches (or 36 inches behind centerline of axle if no PTO.)
- Equipped with a hitch point with a minimum of 3 inch opening (standard or twisted clevis accepted.)
- Maximum 700 PTO RPM on 540 shaft or 1150 RPM on 1,000 shaft. Engine RPM’s not to exceed 3,000 RPM and governor must have stop and drop PTO limit. This RPM limit will be tested and strictly enforced. Violators will be disqualified if checked after pull and do not pass.
- If a dyno is present at event, you may be asked to hook to it.
- Turbos, intercoolers, torque converters only as original equipment.
- Exhaust up with minimum of 18 inch pipe or factory system.
- Weighted with operator and weighed prior to class.
- Must have working rear brakes.
- Tractor may be entered in no more than two classes per event, once per class and no switching operators within classes.
- Added weight and/or brakes securely attached to frame or wheels. None behind or above rear tires or over 24 inches ahead of frame. Must not interfere with hitching. None on seat, platform, footrest, drawbar, 3 point links, or moved to another tractor in same class under penalty of removal. Maximum width, 10 feet, redi-rods or attaching bolts will NOT protrude more than 4 inches in heaviest weight class. Any weight lost while hitched to sled DISQUALIFIES tractor. Suitcase weights allowed.
- 2 ½ pound B/C fire extinquisher recommended.
- Must have working PTO, if originally equipped with one. Puller will be responsible for correct shaft size and provide adapter if necessary. Slipping of PTO will be cause for disqualification.
- All tractors must have Wheeley bars to protect against rear flip over!
